Lean Accounting systems support decision-makers in organizations that are committed to the Lean model of how to create organizational excellence. Implementing Lean Accounting and Lean Management will allow an organization to dramatically improve customer satisfaction while streamlining 0perations.
This certificate program is open to anyone holding a BA degree. Candidates must have already graduated with their BA or have completed all degree requirements and be eligible to graduate at the next graduation date.
Pre-requisites:
Courses in Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting from an accredited university, or equivalent (e.g., chartered accountant courses), as approved by the department. mIn addition, you may need to pass an online accounting test to verify your understanding of basic mfinancial accounting practices in the USA.
Certificate Requirements (12 credits):
- Systems for Developing Organizational Excellence (2 units)
- Lean Management Principles (2 units)
- Lean Accounting I (2 units)
- Lean Accounting II (2 units)
One of the following course options:
- Cases in Lean Management and Accounting (2 units)
- Implementing Lean Accounting in Organizations (2 units)
- Science and Technology of Consciousness (2 units) (May be waived if student has previously taken either this course or the Science of Creative Intelligence course.)
Before starting the second course, the student will be required to take instruction in the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique at a local or regional TM Center. The cost of instruction in the Transcendental Meditation technique is separate and is the responsibility of the student. The local TM instructor will submit a document verifying the completion of instruction. It is recommended that students arrange for instruction during the first course.
